I think Fusion 360 is so widely used by hobbyists because it is a very capable and well made piece of software that doesn't cost a dime. However I feel that with Fusion 360 you at least don't feel it is cloud when working with it, I only notice when I save a document and immediately close the program, then have to wait 10 seconds before the changes are uploaded before it close down.Not being able to work offline isn't really an issue these days though I'd still prefer it to be fully local and with zero DRM.
